Here at Smart Works Greater Manchester we harness the power of clothes and confidence to allow a woman to be her best at a crucial moment in her life.

We value clothing donations that are interview-appropriate as well as smart casual clothes reflecting the change in current working attire, that are in good condition and ready to wear.

We encourage you to be part of another woman’s future, by adding a ‘note of confidence’ in your donation and telling us the story of what these items of clothing meant to you.

We welcome the following donated items – Our clothing sizes are: 4 to 30.

  • Smart Business Attire (suits, skirts, trousers, dresses, tops, blouses, etc)
  • Smart Casual Attire
  • Shoes/Boots
  • Jackets/Coats
  • New tights
  • Accessories – work appropriate hand bags, belts, scarves, etc

Sustainability is really important to us, most of the clothes donated to us get put straight onto our rails to dress the women we see. However, we also sell items online and hold pop-up fashion sales throughout the year to create much needed income. We therefore welcome any high quality items that could be sold at these events, including casual or party pieces.

All profit made from these sales is put directly back into our services to ensure we can continue to help as many women as possible.

Individual clothing donations

Clothing donation drop offs must be booked in advance. We kindly ask that donations are bagged up, please note we unfortunately cannot accept hangers. Contact us to arrange a drop off:

Organise a clothing drive

Many organisations run a clothing drive on behalf of Smart Works, which is an easy and fun way to secure a large number of clothing donations, and ensure that great quality clothing is put to the best possible use.
