We marked International Day of the Girl with an inspiring event full of honest conversations and powerful insights. Our panel spoke about the critical need to do more to support our young women into work. Young women aged 16-25 represent the biggest proportion of the 35,000 "unemployed and looking for work" population in Greater Manchester. It was truly moving to hear from our incredible guest speakers, especially the young women who shared their lived experiences with strength and honesty. Their stories reminded us why amplifying girls' voices matters now more than ever.
Thank you to Lee Chambers, who generously donated a proportion of his book sales to support our work, via The Big Give – doubling his donation. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so powerful and to our guest speakers Natasha Gada, Bethany Taylor, Anna Hemmings, Kate Thomas, Harley Crolla and Caroline Roberts-Cherry – and to Eversheds Sutherland and Catherine Henney for hosting us in such a wonderful space.
