Smart Works Greater Manchester is delighted to announce that Efua Uke (Efy) has joined our trustee board having spent the past 6 months as guest Trustee supporting our activities. We are fully committed to ensuring our community and services are accessible, inclusive, and representative of the diverse communities we serve across the city region and Efy as our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Trustee will play a vital role in embedding EDI principles across all aspects of the Charity.
This will include developing our own diversity and inclusion across the volunteering community, with corporate and individual supporters, and in everything that we do to encourage every unemployed woman know she will find a welcoming community with Smart Works Greater Manchester.
Efy says about her appointment: “I’m delighted to join the Board of Trustees at Smart Works Greater Manchester, an organisation whose mission deeply resonates with me. I’m passionate about empowering women to achieve their potential, and I look forward to contributing to the charity’s work in widening access to its services and embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion at every level. It’s a privilege to support the charity in empowering women to build confidence through coaching and clothing, and to unlock new opportunities through employment.”
