As well as celebrating July being our busiest month ever with 152 client appointments, we also recruited two new trustees to join our board.
Helen Spence joins as Corporate Relationships and Fundraising Trustee focussed on building the wonderful support we have enjoyed from corporate partners across Manchester city region into mutually beneficial charity sponsorship and partnerships. Helen says "I am truly inspired by the incredible work being done at Smart Works Greater Manchester to empower women and enhance their confidence. As a Trustee, I am eager to leverage my expertise in corporate partnerships and fundraising to help amplify our efforts, ensuring that we can reach and support even more women in our community.”
Chloe Smith joins as Deputy Treasurer working alongside Alison Lever and the Finance team at smart Works Charity to maintain our rigorous financial management. Chloe says "Financial independence is a powerful form of empowerment. Smart Works gives women the confidence and opportunity to transform their lives, and I’m looking forward to supporting that mission in any way I can."
Not only that, we are thrilled to confirm:
Emma Pickering has been appointed as Deputy Chair after a brilliant 12 months as Corporate Relationships trustee.
We strive to develop our board to deliver our strategic goals, engaging with retailers, clothing brands, businesses and political leaders shaping employment across the city region - working "on" the charity not "in" the charity - which remains under the excellent leadership of the Head of SWGM Victoria Cronquist.
